It reads the catalog, not your rows
Setup reads tables, columns and types, primary and foreign keys, unique constraints, indexes, check constraints, enum types and comments. Rows are read only when you open a page that shows them.
PostgreSQL
Give Adminium a PostgreSQL connection string and it builds the admin from your schema: editable tables, roles, dashboards and an audit log. It runs on your own machine and it is free.
npx @adminiumjs/adminium new my-admin Setup reads tables, columns and types, primary and foreign keys, unique constraints, indexes, check constraints, enum types and comments. Rows are read only when you open a page that shows them.
An enum becomes a select input, a foreign key becomes a link you can follow, and a column comment becomes the field description.
Connect with a role that can only SELECT and you see exactly what Adminium makes of your database with no possibility of a write. Grant more when you are ready.
A server of your own or a managed one. Pooled connection strings such as Neon’s or Supabase’s work as they are, and a database on a private network is reachable through an SSH tunnel.
Setup only reads the schema. After that it is a read-and-write admin: people change rows through it, within the roles you set and the rights of the database role you gave it. With a read-only role it cannot write at all.
Yes. Paste the connection string your provider shows, including a pooled one. Use sslmode=require for any database that is not on your own machine.
In a small store of its own, which can be a file, a separate database, or tables inside the same PostgreSQL database when the role is allowed to create them.
Nothing. Adminium is AGPL-3.0, with no limit on tables, pages or users.
Free and open source. Running on your own machine in about a minute.
