Live Personalizer

A live picture of what a customer is asking for. The maker sets a piece up once — puts its artwork up and draws the areas a customer may change, each with the limits it has — and from then on a shopper types their own words and sees them on the piece, in the alphabet, at the size and in the finish it will be made in. Every refusal comes back with a way out, and each one is a button: text that does not fit offers both — drop to this many millimeters, or shorten to this many characters — and a mark the alphabet has no shape for offers the one the studio does cut in its place, named as itself. Where no button could honestly help, it says so in words rather than hand over one that would quietly empty the field, because “it does not fit” on its own is a dead end. The thumbnail in the basket, the picture sent for approval and the line on the order are the same picture, drawn once and filed under its own digest, so the three cannot drift apart. What comes out at the other end is a machine-ready file of outlines with no typeface named in it, which is what makes it cut the same on whatever machine opens it. It runs entirely inside your installation, needs no account of any kind, and calls no outside service.

If you switch it off
Disconnecting removes an add-on’s surfaces. It never drops the tables it created, deletes the files it wrote, or removes the rows it added — everything it wrote stays in your database.
What stays
Every set-up you drew and every set of words a customer typed stay in the database, and their pictures and machine files stay in your file store.
What goes
The live picture leaves the piece’s page, the basket and the order line, and its own screen leaves the menu. The studio’s plain note field comes back exactly as it was, with no button left behind.
About the demo
This one calls no outside service at all — in the demo or self-hosted — so it has no stand-in transport, and there is nothing to switch off. The add-ons that do reach out ship one and it is on by default, so no demo on this site makes a real call to anyone else’s service.
How to switch it on In the demo, switch to the maker’s side, open Add-ons and turn Live Personalizer on — then go back to the shop and open a piece you can personalize.
